Brand Evolution vs. Brand Solution
Do you know which is better?
Ok, I’ll admit it… I’m a perfectionist. It’s at the core of my inner-instinct. However, I’ve learned there’s something else that’s more powerful. It’s the conscious and continuous effort we put into improving.
Mark Twain said, “Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection.”
I’ve gotta say, I’m with Mr. Twain on this one. Here’s why:
⚡️ Being done will never happen.
⚡️ Perfection is fleeting.
⚡️ Strategic plans should be rooted in new insight.
⚡️ We need to progressively evolve as new insights emerge.
⚡️ Sustained success comes from sustained evolution.
How to Approach Brand Strategy
7 years ago this week I launched Limbic Brand Evolution. In the months prior, I was contemplating two names for my soon-to-be-launched Brand Strategy Consultancy.
→ Limbic Brand Solutions
→ Limbic Brand Evolution
I wanted the name to perfectly encapsulate my approach to brand development. In hindsight, the right answer was obvious.
That one-word difference – Evolution vs. Solutions – speaks volumes about my values, my POV, and the way I encourage everyone to approach things - especially when it comes to brand development.
→ Brand Development is all about Continuous Improvement and Evolution.
→ Brand Development is never one-and-done, solved or finished.
Limbic Brand Evolution was born.
How to Channel Perfectionism
Yes, it’s true, I’m a perfectionist. Every single day I work at making improvements. However, want to know what I’ve discovered? Perfection is a good goal, but don’t let the idea that you haven’t reached perfect yet slow you down. There’s always room for improvement.
Can you think of an area where you’d like to balance perfect solutions, with evolution that comes from continuous improvement? Weaving these two together has been at the core of my work for the last 7 years!
