"If you're not listening to your customers, you're not doing your job.”
This, from Marcy Ullom, is so incredibly true for company and brand Leaders of any size company in any industry.
Marcy is CEO of VitaGlide, a company that manufactures and distributes the VitaGlide exercise and rehab machine for people with limited lower body movement. It’s an incredible piece of equipment that fills a big void in the market, and keeps improving thanks to user input.
On this episode of Let's Talk Limbic Sparks Marcy reveals how helping people starts with meeting them where they are. I’m so happy to have had the chance to be inspired by her, and I’m thrilled to share our discussion.
Marcy describes both the ambition and challenges she and her husband Hugh have navigated since purchasing VitaGlide, revitalizing the brand, and improving the product's functionality for users.
We discuss:
⚡️ The benefits of listening to customers, understanding to their goals, and embracing their ideas.
⚡️ Why you need to listen for the emotional undertone, which is even more telling about what they are striving to achieve.
⚡️ Why it’s a good idea to de-prioritize features, and lead with emotional benefits in marketing.
Marcy also shares,
“You want to help people. You want to make people have a better life. You want to improve what they are experiencing everyday… You've gotta talk to people. You've gotta talk, talk, talk, talk, talk to people... to try to pick their brain to find out what it is that drives them.”
No matter what your business is all about, understanding your customers and meeting them where they are is the right place to start. I have no doubt that you’ll be as inspired as I was by this discussion.
